The Odd Bits

Tears of the Dragon Boy

This page will parent the chapters of my book. The Novel is completed but in the stages of the first major rewrite. I think it is becoming greater than it started out to be. It has been a great adventure. Here is the synopsis.

The setting is Science fiction fantasy. Otherworld albeit similar to our own, save that of the twin moons that circumnavigate in a fashion we would recognize as south to north and a sun which travels what we would see as east to west. All direction is given in that fashion as well, Sunpath or Moonpath. There is no technology save that of mechanical devices similar to our earliest days of horse and buggy.

Our Main character is Bimeny. A boy who has his feet firmly on the ground until his world is turned upside down when he attends Stormtraub. An annual celibration for the 16-18 year olds who have collected 12 stones while growing up. Stones that call to them in some way. Perhaps they just caught their attention. Through a lightnigh strike these attendees receive a blessing that fills a need for their community. Participation is voluntary and some die. But the blessing assures them a future of prosperity with the community.

But treachery is at foot and Bimeny is on the plateu when the storm starts and he is imbued with an odd blessing. He doesn’t just obtain a power over something like wind or water. He becomes half dragon.

Since dragons have not been seen for ages and the elders fear it will keep others from choosing to obtain the blessings so valued by the villages for survival, they decide Bimeny must die for the benefit of all man.

The real question is, how will the dragons feel about it.

I hope you enjoy this adventure as much as have I in writing it. I will post the finished chapters as they get rewritten.

Cheers,

John
